The Patent Attorneys of Pfister & Pfister are recognized by the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office as well as by the European Union Intellectual Property Office in Alicante. They acquired their admission as Patent Attorneys according to German law.

The Patent Attorneys are members of the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys (competent supervisory authority) (www.patentanwalt.de), Tal 29, 80331 Munich, Germany, Tel. +49 / (0)89 24 22 780 and of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office epi (www.patentepi.com), Bayerstraße 83, 80335 Munich, Germany, Tel. +49 / (0)89 24 20 520.

German Patent Attorneys are subject to the professional rules set forth in the Patentanwaltsordnung (PAO) (German Patent Attorney Code), the Berufsordnung der Patentanwälte (BOPA) (Code of Conduct for German Patent Attorneys) and the FICPI (Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle) Code of Professional Conduct. The PAO and the BOPA can be viewed and accessed on the website of the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys (www.patentanwalt.de) under the heading "Patentanwälte". The FICPI Code of Professional Conduct can be found on the FICPI website (https://www.ficpi.org/about-ficpi/governance/code-of-conduct).

European Patent Attorneys are subject to the professional rules and regulations of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi) which can be found one the epi website (https://patentepi.com/en/the-institute/rules-and-regulations.html).

German Attorneys-at-Law are subject to the Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung (BRAO) (German Federal Lawyers' Act); the Berufsordnung der Rechtsanwälte (BORA) (Code of Conduct for German Lawyers); the Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz (RVG) (German Law on the Remuneration of Attorneys); the CCBE Code of Conduct for Lawyers in the European Union and the Gesetz über die Tätigkeit europäischer Rechtsanwälte in Deutschland (EuRAG) (Law regulating the activity of European lawyers in Germany). Out-of-court dispute resolution

In case of disputes between Attorneys-at-Law or Patent Attorneys and their clients, an application for of an out-of-court dispute resolution can be submitted pursuant to § 73 (2) no. 3 in conjunction with § 73 (5) BRAO to the Munich Bar Association (address see above) or pursuant to § 191f BRAO to the arbitration board of the bar (www.brak.de; e-mail: schlichtungsstelle@brak.de) or pursuant to § 69 (2) no. 3 PAO to the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys (Tal 29, 80331 Munich; dpak@patentanwalt.de; www.patentanwalt.de).


Online dispute resolution

The link to the EU platform for out-of-court online dispute resolution for consumers (OS) can be found here: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ .

According to § 3 (1) Nr. 4 DL-InfoV out-of-court dispute resolutions are to be applied for via the corresponding arbitration bodies (see point "Out-of-court dispute resolution").

We are therefore not obliged to participate in a dispute resolution procedure before a consumer arbitration board pursuant to the the ADR Directive.
