From April 01, 2011 on the European Patent Register will display the date of despatch of the examining division's first communication. This date is important for calculating the time limit for filing European Divisional application. The new regulation was introduced in 2010 and sets the time limit to file Divisionals from pending EP-applications to 24 month from the above mentioned examining division's first communication. With displaying the date of despatch of the examining division's first communication in the patent register the calculation of time limits is simplified and even more reliable for the Applicant. |
